The YIP Program Cost is SEK 100.000.- per participant.
The Application Fee for YIP is SEK 750. It is not refundable. This fee must be received with the application. Payment details are on the Application Form. YIP charges this fee to cover some of the costs of processing the applications and to ensure the seriousness of the applicant.
A Reservation Fee of SEK 5.000.- is due within one month of your acceptance to YIP. The Reservation Fee enables us to reserve your place in the program. It is credited towards the total Program Cost.
If you withdraw your Participation from YIP three (3) months or more before the program is due to begin you will be refunded half of this fee (SEK 2.500.-). Withdrawal after this point makes the entire Reservation Fee non-refundable.
The Program Cost per participant is SEK 100.000.- For current exchange rates, see table on the left of this page.
Please consider that this price includes lodging (for the year) and food (during the course-week) when you eventually compare these costs to other programs or studies.
Specifically, it includes:
- The Program, Courses, Course Materials and Evening Activities
- Organic Meals
(Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner from Monday – Friday, not during holidays)
- Accommodation (single-sex twin-share bedrooms on campus)
- Travel to and from International Internship
- Transportation (in connection with the curriculum)
This amount does not cover the full costs of running the Program, which are fundraised by the YIP Organization. Depending on the number of participants, the full costs are around SEK 150.000.-
Program Payment Timeline
There are two payment options:
- Option 1: Pay remaining balance of SEK 92.000.- at once before July 1st. (EarlyBird discount of SEK 3.000.- is deducted)
- Option 2: Pay SEK 55.000.- before August 1st and the remaining SEK 40.000.- before January 1st.
How to Pay
Accepted participants receive detailed payment instructions.
A room deposit of SEK 1.000.- is to be paid in cash upon arrival at YIP. This deposit is not covered by the program costs and will be refunded at the end of YIP provided the room is left clean, undamaged and in good condition when you leave it.
Travel & Transport
Part of the YIP curriculum is an extended stay at an International Internship where participants contribute to and learn from work being done by a list of International Organizations, Initiatives and Projects. The YIP Program Cost covers the travel expenses to and from this Internship. Additional costs may be necessary to cover room and board while abroad.
The YIP Program Cost also covers some travel and transport expenses within Sweden in connection with YIP and the YIP curriculum.
