I grew up in this funny patch of land that we call ‘England’, in Kent. Here I experienced life and all its fluctuations, went through mainstream education and found an interest in critical studies – gravitating towards sociology and politics. I later studied these at University in London, whose harsh and vibrant environment broadened my questions and inspirations. Much of my time was spent organising and participating in activism as i felt my longing for ‘another world’ growing, or rather recognising the need for us to live differently.

I am a curious and reflexive person, with a joy for social connection and a drive to always find currents of creativity, care and hope. I hope, going forwards to find alternative ways of living, finding autonomy from larger system and pursuing justice for all peoples. YIP has been an important experience for me of alternative living , learning and community. Allowing me to sit with all the systems i have internalised from my experiences of education, and capitalist individualised society, I have met myself and the world in a new way. I feel I have much more to learn from the team, programme and in myself, I am so excited to be a part of the next YIP year and to be inspired by the next gen of Yippies!
