Ani Hanelius

Co-founder, member of the Advisory Council

Ani was born in New York, USA, in April 1983 but she grew up in Austin, Texas. There she attended the Austin Waldorf School from kindergarten and graduated as one of the pioneering members of the first high school 12th grade class in 2001. She then attended Earlham College and graduated in 2005 with a BA major in Human Development & Social Relations, and a minor in Spanish and Education. After a year working in Austin, she then embarked on a year in Cape Town, South Africa working as a House Mother and Dairy Manager at Camphill Village, West Coast.

In October 2007 she began an Anthroposophical Studies Course in English at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland. While in Dornach, she also joined the YouthSection team, working with the annual Summer Conference, festival.forum, and editing the YouthSection newsletter. After working as a YIP Program Coordinator from 2008 to 2011, she is now back in the USA, working on numerous exciting projects.
